ABOUT US

Based in St Albans' Sphere Industrial Estate, Herts Music Centre (HMC) has been supporting the development of musicians in South Hertfordshire since it's opening in 2012. The benefits of music-making are endless. Thus, we've made it our mission to not only promote this to people of all ages and abilities, but to provide the necessary services and support to kick-start or continue their music journey.

Whether you're purchasing your (first) instrument, wanting to schedule music lessons, needing to check your instrument in for service, or looking for a practice space - HMC is here for you! We look forward to welcoming you to the centre very soon.

ONE STOP (2000 SQ FT) SHOP!

A retail store, a music school with rooms to hire, a repair and service centre, and an instrument rental business all under one roof!

PLENTY OF FREE PARKING

That's right - FREE! That means you can stay as looong as you like!

WE 'GO GREEN'

The electricity we use is 100% renewable - powered by wind and water! Also, with our move to paperless systems, we've cut our printing on paper by 80%!

TWO DRUM ROOMS

We have two Roland VAD506 electric drum kits in two different sized room. These rooms are available to rent outside of teaching hours.

BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS

We've got the largest collection of music songbooks and exam material in South Hertfordshire! If we are missing something you need, we can order it in for you.

PETS ARE WELCOME

Feel free to bring your fur, feathered or scaled babies in but if they make a mess, you're cleaning up after them!

LESSONS

Music should be, first and foremost, a fun and enjoyable experience! Herts Music Centre’s fantastic team of tutors have supported the development of hundreds of musicians of all ages, levels of experience and musical abilities, over the last decade.

At HMC, we are sure to have the right tutor to suit you (or your child) and your musical goals.

RENTALS

Rental is a fantastic way to go if you're taking your first steps in music-making, or giving another instrument a go. Rentals start at £5/month - that's almost the cost of a single cup of coffee!

With a catalogue of over a hundred luthier/ atelier-serviced, electric and acoustic, rental instruments - Herts Music Centre likely has just the instrument for you!

REPAIRS

Our talented team of technicians here at Herts Music Centre take great pride in the servicing, restoration, and repair of our customers' instruments.

Upon inspection, we will give an estimate cost (free of charge) of the repair, and you can then decide if you'd like us to go ahead with the necessary work. No obligation!
